Focal Upright Mogo Seat

The Focal Mogo Seat is designed to let you take your upright lifestyle with you wherever you roam—indoors or out.

It's Portable: Take the mogo seat anywhere! Totally collapsible and weighing only 2 lbs., you can even fit Mogo into a tote bag.

Use it Indoors or Outdoors:  Mogo is equally comfortable in the board room and on the soccer field.  With a simple flip of the base, the Mogo can provide a non-slip surface for indoors, or a spiked surface for the field.

Supportive: Mogo is the simplest, most supportive portable leaning chair out there.

Want to make the Mogo even more supportive? Make it a bundle and add the stabilizing foot rest (and save a few dollars while you’re at it).

    Human Kickstand Does Its Job

This thing is pretty awesome. Having stood at work (9+ hr days) for over a year, my feet/back/neck could get pretty tired. I'd find myself slouching or reaching for the not-so-ergonomic drafting stool. I just got this, so I can't speak to long term use, but at first try it seems great. Construction/functionality are solid. Takes the weight off the feet, keeps the back in a solid position, keeps the hips open, engages the abs.... it's awesome.

Be sure to hit their website ([...] for tips on how to use it properly. I played with it for a bit then read through the site again and decided to try on a lower click- much better. I'm 5'2" and use it on the second click. I'm going to use it for a while before deciding, but I'm already thinking about getting a second one for my home workstation. It's portable, but not so small that I'd want to carry it back/forth every day.

    Pros-
    Pretty portable.
    Easy to set-up/use.
    Very comfortable.
Takes the weight off the feet and keeps the hips open.

    Cons-
Could use a bit of a shock- something to give it a little squish.
The shape of the seat allows a bit of tush to mush through. Comfortable? yes. Flattering? no. If you're planning on using this at work, it's something to consider. Not a big deal in jeans or other thicker pants/skirts, but in anything thin there are some extra bits on display.

2Extremely Cool Design but Made for a Specific Bod

In terms of aesthetics/concept, this chair is super cool...It's very sturdy, well made and it's ultra compact design is awesome. It comes apart and collapses really nicely.

That being said, "in-theroy" just didn't meet up with "in-practice" for me. I have a treadmill desk set up that I use for about 5 hours/day. There are times when I'd rather be "sitting" - or in this case, not walking and not standing upright. I think the Mogo is one of those things that's designed for a specific body type (i.e. pretty slim) - I am 5'6", 143 lbs, female and carry all my weight in my hips/thighs. So, I felt like the seat was cutting off circulation.

Usually after standing long periods of time, I feel pain in my lower back and legs - the chair eliminated the back/leg pain (my lower back actually felt great) but instead my butt and heels would start hurting. I understand that anything gets painful after a while - hence the desire to change up the workstation - but I used the chair for about 4 hours today and didn't really feel comfortable at any point while using it. I'm curious to try the Focal Upright Locus Leaning Seat because it's designed to be used with an angled foot rest. It's also worth noting that your intended use for the chair might change your opinion of it. For an office setting where it will be used extensively, it might not work so well for you. If you're thinking of more occasional use for the chair, like in an airport, or while hiking etc. then it might be something to try ou

    Almost Perfect

Certain pants make the seat slippery, and the rubber end does slide if you're not sitting in it just right.

That said, I've been on the lookout for ergonomic chair alternatives, and this is one of the most affordable, clever and portable things out there.
