I like to think of the process of choosing the right sit-stand desk as a series of important questions:
Q1 - Do I want a full sit-stand desk, or a sit-stand desk converter?
If you're looking for the best ergonomics and function, a full sit-stand desk will always be your best option, but often that isn't an option. If you have the means, this is the best way to go, but if you are limited by budget, by space, or if you can't replace the desk you are currently using, then we think a desk converter will be perfect for you.
Q2a - How do I choose the right full sit-stand desk?
Go with what you like, and your budget affords, and then personalize it with the right set of accessories (monitor arms are strongly suggested). Here are some ideas:
Q2b - How do I choose the right sit-stand desk converter?
This is a little more complicated, and should always start with a careful evaluation of your current desk and space. Here's what you need to consider:
- Size and quantity of monitor(s) and/ or laptop you plan to use. If you plan to purchase a pop-up desk riser, be sure to measure the width of your monitor stands, when arranged side-by-side (as they would be on the desk).
- Desk space available. Consider the depth of your desk, and any walls or cabinets that might be in the way behind your desk. (Each product page lists the depth requirement for the desk)
- Height required. Height adjustment varies quite a bit from desk converter to desk converter. At the least, the keyboard should be able to reach the height of your hands, when you have your elbows by your side, and your arms at a 90º angle.
